Safety Awards Program
SDI’s commitment to providing a safe work environment for all employees is demonstrated in our one safety goal: Zero Incident Rate. No phase of business is of greater importance than our employees’ personal safety. SDI employs a full-time safety director (sswiger@shaftdrillers.com) and conducts annual refresher MSHA Part 48 training every January as well as additional job specific training.
At SDI, we recognize that all accidents are preventable. As safety is the responsibility of every employee all of the time, we implement bonus and award programs to encourage safe work environments.

2007 SDI Safety Program Award Winner JAMES LASSIINGER, a supervisor for
Coastal Drilling East, LLC, takes ownership of the grand prize, a 2007
Harley Davidson Customized 1200 Sportster.
